“Breaking Bad” Film Locations

Hello, you Breaking Badies! …Breaking Badasses? Breaking Bad-a-Bing-Bada-Booms?

I clearly have no idea if there’s a name for the fandom.

Well, you fans of the TV series Breaking Bad starring Bryan Cranston know the show takes place in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and probably know or can figure out that many of the filming locations are actually in Albuquerque. What you all may not realize is that most if not all of the exterior locations are here. I’ll show you a few of them… because I simply did not have time to drive around to ALL of them. This will at least get you started.

WARNING: Spoiler alert ahead for those still making their way through the series!

For example, there is the A1 Car Wash that Walter White worked at in season 1. Because it has changed owners, it is now known as MISTER CAR WASH- 9516 Snow Heights Cir. NE, Albuquerque, NM.

Next… it’s where “Everyone Knows It’s Windy,” the CROSSROADS MOTEL- 1001 Central Ave., Albuquerque, NM.

Not sure if I would endorse STAYING here, though…

The last one I will show you is WALTER WHITE’S GRAVESTONE- 6855 4th St , Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, NM.

The funeral and burial was in Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque, but this caused some controversy for family members of people actually buried there, so the prop gravestone has been moved. It is now in the wall of an outdoor strip mall.

… ours is not to reason why…

…amongst the many, many other locations in the area. For the hard core fans, this may be a good weekend destination just to location cruise, like Aaron Rift did here. For my blog, I purposely left out the private residences because… well, they are private residences and I don’t like to bother people in their homes (unless they advertise very blatantly outside a la The House Where Superman was Born). These houses can be seen on Aaron’s video and the addresses found online, but PLEASE… if you do decide to visit them, BE RESPECTFUL! DO NOT trespass, harass, vandalize, urinate, or do anything else uncouth or disgusting or pest-like while at the location. These people deserve their peace.

I also hear tell that the real residents of Walter White’s house are not particularly welcoming of spectators. Approach that one at your own risk.

Otherwise, go to Albuquerque and make a nuisance of yourself by acting out your favorite scenes (just leave the meth and violence out of it).

Until next time, dahlings…
